Aisthesis Medical Awarded EP PerMed Fast Track Funding for VIOSync Pilot Implementation at Hospital Clínic de Barcelona

We are pleased to announce that Aisthesis Medical has been awarded funding through the EP PerMed Fast Track programme to support the SEPTWIN pilot implementation of VIOSync at Hospital Clínic de Barcelona.

The project will be delivered in collaboration with Fundació de Recerca Clínic Barcelona – IDIBAPS and Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, under the clinical leadership of Prof. Carlos Ferrando. The collaboration will bring VIOSync into a real-world hospital environment across general ward and critical-care settings.

We are proud to announce that Aisthesis Medical has won the Partnership with the NHS Award at the 2026 Medilink UK National Awards, held on 9th July at Victoria House in London.

The Project

SEPTWIN – SEPsis Digital TWIN represents an important step in the clinical implementation of VIOSync SPI, our AI-powered platform for personalised sepsis risk prediction.

VIOSync SPI uses routinely collected clinical data to generate personalised risk trajectories and provide clinicians with earlier insight into a patient’s evolving risk of sepsis.

During the pilot, the platform will operate within the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona environment, enabling the project partners to evaluate its technical integration, data availability, operational performance and ability to generate meaningful sepsis risk information under real-world conditions.

What the Pilot Means for Aisthesis Medical

Moving clinical AI from development into routine healthcare environments requires much more than strong algorithmic performance. Successful implementation depends on reliable integration with hospital infrastructure, robust clinical evidence, workflow compatibility and close collaboration with healthcare professionals.

The SEPTWIN project will help generate the real-world evidence and implementation experience needed to support the next stages of wider clinical adoption of VIOSync SPI.

For Aisthesis Medical, this represents another important milestone in moving VIOSync SPI closer to scalable deployment within European healthcare systems.

Working with Hospital Clínic de Barcelona and IDIBAPS

The project builds on our collaboration with Fundació de Recerca Clínic Barcelona – IDIBAPS, which will act as the clinical validation centre through its access to Hospital Clínic de Barcelona’s clinical environment, infrastructure and patient population.

Working alongside clinical, research and technical teams in Barcelona will allow us to evaluate VIOSync SPI within the realities of hospital care and continue developing the platform around genuine clinical and operational needs.

About EP PerMed Fast Track

The EP PerMed Fast Track programme supports personalised medicine innovations in overcoming the validation gap between technological development and clinical adoption.

For SEPTWIN, this support enables Aisthesis Medical and its clinical collaborators to advance VIOSync SPI through real-world implementation and generate evidence supporting its progression toward broader deployment.
