Aisthesis Medical has secured funding through Innovate UK’s Biomedical Catalyst: Post-accelerator funding competition to advance VIOSync SPI, our AI-powered sepsis prediction platform, and strengthen its pathway towards NHS adoption and US regulatory clearance.
Working with the London Institute for Healthcare Engineering (LIHE) at King’s College London, the project will focus on FDA pathway preparation, NHS health-economic analysis and procurement readiness.
The Project
VIOSync SPI uses routinely collected clinical data, explainable AI and Digital Patient Twin technology to generate personalised sepsis risk trajectories. It is designed to help clinicians recognise evolving risk earlier and support timely clinical assessment and intervention.
The funding will support preparation of the FDA submission package, helping us define the evidence and regulatory requirements for progressing VIOSync SPI towards the US market.
Alongside this work, the project will advance NHS health-economic analysis to assess the platform’s potential value for patients and hospitals. This will help develop the economic case for adoption, including the potential implications for healthcare costs and resource use.
Procurement preparation will translate this work into evidence and materials that help NHS decision-makers evaluate VIOSync SPI and understand its proposed role within hospital care.
What the Funding Means for Aisthesis Medical
Successful clinical AI adoption depends on more than predictive performance. Hospitals need to understand how a technology fits into care, what evidence supports its use and whether it offers value within constrained budgets.
This award supports our next phase of development by addressing these requirements alongside the FDA pathway. For Aisthesis Medical, it is a practical step towards making VIOSync SPI ready for hospital purchasing decisions and future international deployment.
Working with the London Institute for Healthcare Engineering
LIHE at King’s College London brings together academic research, clinical practice and MedTech innovation to help healthcare technologies progress towards clinical and commercial use. Our work with LIHE will support the next stage of VIOSync SPI’s development and adoption preparation.
