What is Sepsis
Sepsis is a life-threatening organ dysfunction caused by a dysregulated host response to infection (Singer et al., 2016). Sepsis arises when the body’s response to an infection injures its own tissues and organs. It may lead to shock, multi-organ failure, and death – especially if not recognized early and treated promptly.
Sepsis Prediction Index (SPI)
The Sepsis Prediction Index is currently being validated through an intensive 8-month clinical validation pilot study with a partner hospital, focusing on the surgical ward. Our ongoing study involves comprehensive data analysis from over 60 patients, considering vital signs, medical history, medication, and lab results to confirm the initial findings.
The VIOSync Sepsis Prediction Index leverages more than 100 key parameters, drawing insights from 20,000 septic cases used extensively in its development phase.
